I was born in 1988 in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. 16 years later I got my first camera and started to make films. In the beginning I took over nearly every position behind the camera, from writing, editing, directing to music and sound design. But very soon I discovered that my passion is producing films because of the mixture of two different aspects: the economic and the creative side.
I really love numbers and excel sheets, that’s why I completed my Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration as well as my Master of Science in General Management at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. Always responsible for the finances of my own projects, I started to work as an assistant production accountant for feature films in 2014.
The other side of filmmaking is the creative part. I really like genre films and pushing the boundaries of the involvement of the viewer. In the last few years I produced various short films, from the classic historical drama DIE POLENEICHE to a user-generated cinema approach for the sci-fi movie DYSTOPIA set in the year 2184, from documentaries like LIFE CAMP UYO to the interactive zombie movie FIVE MINUTES.
As a founding member and executive of the Polish-German Film Society Villingen-Schwenningen I can combine the creative and economic aspects in another area. Since 2011 I’ve been committed to German-Polish art and culture by bringing together young Germans and Poles through youth exchange programs and film as a common language. Our next project will most likely take place in autumn 2015.
For me film producing is very similar to making music: Working together on a vision which everyone would like to share with the world. By my high commitment as a trumpet player I’ve learned to work patiently and efficiently alone as well as in groups of different sizes, both as a leader and as a follower.
Until April 2016 I studied at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and graduated with the short film WHEN DEMONS DIE. I chosed „International Producing“ as my subject area because for me working internationally is a big enrichment in many regards. I already gathered international experience by working with the British-based company UNIT9 on FIVE MINUTES and by shooting the exterior scenes of my diploma film in Estonia in cooperation with Oreefilms.
Together with my former fellow student Fabian Baier I started my own company „The Greater Fool“ in 2017, focussing on the development and production of genre films and series.
